POPS-Direct Canada: prepare before the upload

POPS-Direct is the DMW online processing route for Direct Hire applications. A readiness check is useful before upload because incomplete, route-mismatched or office-specific requirements can delay evaluation.

Quick route

1 · Confirm routeDirect Hire · Professional/Skilled · Canada jobsite.
2 · Check readinessApply central DMW and the supported MWO branch.
3 · Fix gaps firstResolve MISSING and REVIEW items before submission.

Start with the correct DMW route

Current DMW regional guidance tells Direct Hire applicants to log in through eRegistration, choose Direct Hire, and upload the documentary requirements through POPS-Direct.

Do not treat upload as approval

Uploading documents starts government evaluation. Direct Hire Clearance is a later DMW outcome; a pre-checker cannot predict or guarantee it.

Separate Phase 1 from later requirements

The checker keeps later Phase 2 items fail-closed until Direct Hire Clearance is confirmed, so users do not accidentally treat later OEC-related steps as already satisfied.

Scope boundary. This is a pre-submission readiness tool, not DMW/MWO approval, legal advice, Direct Hire Clearance, or OEC issuance. When current official sources conflict or do not verify a requirement, the checker returns REVIEW rather than guessing.
